This is sort of a cheesy version of Tutorial Thursday. It is really just a great idea that I saw in a magazine last winter. But, I like it and thought you might too.
In a few months the girls are going to share a room. I want to repaint it a sagey- apple green, but am having a really hard time coming up with the right shade. (Any suggestions?) One of the rooms in my old house was the exact color that I want, but it is sadly discontinued and I don't have a sample. As part of this quest I have found myself trolling the aisles of every paint department. With this has come quite a few stacks of paint chips. In the spirit of recycling, I have turned them into gift tags and bookmarks. The gift tag is pretty self explanatory... punch hole, write a message, tie it on. Done. I also have begun to wrap in tulle (read about my wrapping issues here). It is really inexpensive, can fit around any weird shape, and is whimsical and pretty. Not for boys though. For a bookmark I just punch a hole on the top with my Cropadile, put a grommet in it and finish it with a ribbon. Easy, useful and it costs a few pennies.
