The Bumbo was one of the few baby gear-ish things that I bought when we had Janey.
It turned out to be her most favorite thing.
She loved to be in the action.
Super easy and content rolling in the cushy foam.
It went everywhere with us.
She sat everywhere in it.
Irish bear bait while camping.

Sewing assistant.  Super stoked by the way.

Just happy to be in my presence while making cupcakes.

Hello!  It's rad to sit here and hold cake mix.

 Chilling on a pier.  NBD.

Making a quilt like a boss.

However, the nerve of me to try to put SOMEONE in it for even a second.
How dare I think that he would want to observe me cutting fabric for a ten small minutes.
Ten minutes better spent destroying everything he can get his little viper hands on.
He didn't last ten seconds before the DRAMAAAAAA started.
Meanest mom IN THE WORLD.

Why would he ever want to be contained when there are irresistible shutters to break??????

{One Bumbo for sale.  Will consider trading for fifty dozen baby gates.  Or shutter repair services.}

  2. Oh my goodness. I think that you make the cutest babies ever. My youngest LOVED the Bumbo. What a bummer that your little guy isn't a fan. That picture of him is hysterical! Gotta love boys!

  3. THANK YOU! I needed a good laugh at your expense. I had never seen Janie so young. What a cutie pie! Yep, they all pop out with their own little personalities or in the case of Shane, big drama-filled personalities. What a hoot! OXOX

  4. You have the cutest babies...I would have to keep going if I were you ;-)! Love pictures of Janey in the bumbo but the whole time I was thinking now why can't MY baby be content to watch me sew, or bake, or do anything for more than a minute!!

That picture of your son with all those happy, smiling faces behind him is priceless (& probably great to show future girlfriends)!

  5. He sure is cute while he's mad!
I didn't have one with Kenzie, but broke down and got one when Colby was born. I loved that he could hang out with us anywhere and he liked it too. Then he became mobile and now the bumbo isn't his friend. I can get him to sit in it for a bit while I feed him, but minutes into it, he's squirming, pushing his feet to the floor and 'standing' up in it. He'd rather be off getting into something he shouldn't too. Maybe it's a boy thing?

  6. His crying face is priceless! He is still adorable, even when he's screaming... probably 'cause I can't hear him :)

  8. I know! I have a baby boy around the same age & he is constantly trying to get into our entertainment center doors. It is constant drama if I try to contain him in his pack n play! It must be a boy thing...they are sweet boys though! :-)

  13. Hilarious! It is funny how some babies like one thing and not another. My daugter hates being in the stroller.

  14. Cute post. Amazing how what works with one doesn't with another... spoken by a home-school mom who had to buy all different curriculum at times, ugh.

  19. Boy drama, gotta love it! I never know boys were such drama kings until I noticed it with my DS. I guess the girls wait until they are older to discover the drama. Cute kids!

  20. Neither one of my twin boys liked the bumbo. They would buck right out of it and flip it over. Two bumbos, down the tubes.

99% of our babyproofing was because of Alex. He broke SO.MANY.THINGS.

  23. I actually just started a FB book for people in the OC that might want to trade stuff they don't need for more stuff they don't need.. haha, just kidding :) No, but really... I started a FB sight that you should check out for people to trade things and open a sense of community. AND for the very reason that some baby items might work for some kids, while other's don't work for the other kiddos ;)

  25. So MY 6 month old daughter likes to arch her back and pop her legs out and roll down the side of the Bumbo....not helpful...at all. Bumbo's not a natural phenom in our house either. Glad we're not the only one on that train ;)
