  2. Hello- me too! I didn't pay for college with my skills...but the one sport I was good at was swimming.
My dad makes waterparks and water features (anything water related) for pete's sake. I think I mentioned to you that we watched Michael Phelps at the Olympic Trials break some records (my dad did those pools; pretty cool I must say for a swimmer to have a dad who does stuff like that).
All 3 of my kids. Not a one. (and they are OLD too. JJ is a different story but Julia is 7 and Drew is almost 3)
Trying to change that. I'll let you know if I figure it out.

  3. I was telling someone the story the other day of us driving either to or away (I can't remember in my old age) from swim practice when it was pouring down rain and your windshield wipers flung off! Remember how you stuck your head out of one side of the window and I did the other in order to see! That was a fun time for us! XO

  4. I didn't have the luxury of having a pool around where I grew up but my kids have that and for some unknown reason she does not want to learn how to swim. I am so frustrated with that attitude of hers. Help if you have any ideas. thanks i feel I am not alone in this anymore.

  5. Because you know how the story will end? That you will end up driving kids to the pool every day for the next 10 years or so? Because there is no off season in swimming and you want to have a life off the deck?

I am the mom of 6 swimmers. How the heck did that happen? I didn't even learn to swim properly until college. I blame it on my
    h2o playin hubby.

  7. Ugh! Me too. I did synchro in gradeschool and speed swimming in highschool...and LOVE everything swimming! My daughter however does NOT! Bummer. However, my son is showing signs of liking the water. We went to the beach for two days and he was much more interested than she was. Should be interesting to see how things turn out!

  8. Have you tried the vests??? We used a yellow one we got at Target. They have thin pieces of foam in the front and back. As the child gets more comfortable you remove a piece. They have a leg strap and then shoulder straps that are adjustable. Because it attaches over the shoulder and between the legs they have full use of their arms and legs. My hubby always kept 1 sheet less in the front so they leaned forward a little more. We were able to let them go at their own pace. Hope this helps!!!
