In a season where I feel like I am failing miserably at so many things, a season that can best be described by the phrase treading water, this silly girl, my Lucy is praying for me.
The other night she was pleading with God to "give Mommy nineteen hours of sleep tonight."

So although nineteen hours probably will never happen (but given the opportunity, you better believe that I could probably come close), my sweet daughter knows that she has a God that listens and answers prayers.

Lucy knows that He is the God of infinitely more than we could ever dare to ask or hope.

I am one blessed mom to have this girl praying for me.
Who knows?  Maybe I will have my own Rip Van Winkle kind of night (and day...)

This girl who is obsessed with making dealzzzz on my ridiculously awesome retro iPhone handset, wearing one of her dad's Warby Parker home try-on glasses.  I am obsessed with her adorable Snugars headband.  Like obsessed to the point of giving her THE LOOK when she wears it to school.  THE LOOK that means you better come home with that on your head or WE WILL HAVE WORDS look.  You know that look don't you?  I thought so.

  1. I am in a "treading water" season myself! Prayer is such a powerful thing, you must be doing something right if your sweet girl is praying for you.

  3. I promise it will get better. I have 4 kids and it was crazy hard at the beginning, BUT it got better. I started getting more sleep, started feeling more normal and stopped having my children sit in front of the tv for long enough that I'd be too embarrassed to say how long it actually was! Hang in there. Your daughter is precious! She is proof that you are teaching and loving your kids well!

  7. you are such a good mommy to teach her that she can call on our God for help. how sweet that she prays for you. she didn't just pick this up, she learned it because you and your husband taught her :) what awesome lessons learned. i will join her and pray that the rest you do get is multiplied and you feel rested. i think all moms have a sense of "water coming in over the top of the snorkel" some times. hang in there. look at the big picture.... your kids are learning about, calling on and loving God.... awesome!

  15. thought of you at 3:37 a.m. this morning. haha. our babies are a few weeks apart and i'm pretty sure they made a "let's-keep-our-moms-up" pact. love that your girlies have such cute style, must get it from their mama. and i love that she has such a wonderful heart. that's what it's all about. all the "doing good" (gal. 6:9) that is called of us as mamas.
