Monday started off beautifully.
Big girls at school.
Jason, the little ones and I at the beach.
Sand toys and a picnic lunch.
Deserted. A little foggy. So peaceful.
A quick trip to Costco, then off to the school to pick up Lucy.
While stopped at a light we were rear ended.
Shaky and unsettled, I checked on Shane and Janey while Jason checked the car and the other driver.
Everyone except me escaped unscathed.
My injuries are minor.
But I am thankful.
Thankful for our big and sturdy SUV.
Thankful for safe carseats that protected my babies.
Thankful for kind doctors that are helping me heal.
Thankful for quality car insurance that is taking good care of us.
Thankful that it wasn't much, much, worse.
Besides, our love story sort of began with a car accident.

I have read before that you may be able to get the faulty driver's insurance to pay to replace your car seats. You may want to check into that.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all are safe!
I came out of lurking for that. lol.
:( Prayers for feeling better, and thankful like you said that everyone is ok..

sometimes we all need to be rear ended, and reminded that what we have right now, the good and the bad, is truly a gift.
Praying that God puts His healing hands on you and continues to protect and guide your beautiful family.
So glad you are all safe! It's those little wake up calls that make us realize how precious life is!

ReplyDeleteCan I just say that I just read your love story, and I was shocked to see your husband was a supertone. That really took me back to my youth days. Then I ran to tell my husband who's been drumming for years and he was just as excited as I was. Praying for your recovery.

Glad you are all ok. Prayers for a speedy recovery for you.
ReplyDeletethat sounds like my last monday... someone ran a red light and now my car is totalled. luckily the children had just been dropped at school so they were not in the car. i'm okay but now we are in the car market... we did not want to be in the car market. glad all is well with you!
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, I'm so sorry. This especially weighs on my heart because Tuesday of this week, my dad was also rear ended. He at a complete stop, the other driver going an estimated 60-65mph. My dad was driving his pickup (thankful), he had to be cut out of the truck and was carried out on a backboard out of feared back injury, but he was checked and x-rayed and miraculously (yes we believe this is all a miracle) is just sore beyond belief (thankful). The other driver took full responsibility (thankful), had insurance (thankful) and sustained only minor injuries himself (so thankful). It could have been so much worse. Each day is precious and a gift. I'm so thankful you guys aren't in any wore shape. As I pray for my dad, I'll pray for you too!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Ugh, I'm so sorry! We were in a pretty (to me big) car accident the day before my daughter's 3rd birthday. It was scarey, worst feeling ever, to get into an accident with kids in the car.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're okay. I got hit by a drunk driver around 4:30am Monday morning after work, so my heart definitely aches for you. I'm SO happy that the family is okay, and I really hope and pray that your neck starts feeling better. God was definitely looking out for His precious Carson's.
