Spicy.

I love me some spicy food.
Really.  Really.  Spicy.
Sadly, no other family members share this particular quirk.

So lately I have been making family approved meals and adding fire to my portion.

My new fave is tweaking the lunch time staple of Mac & Cheese.
Mind you, this is not rocket surgery.
Just a simple change to get you through yet another day of toddler friendly food.

First I serve the picky and dramatic children.
Then I put the pot back on the stove, stir in some kicky mexican cheese and a palm full or so of cayenne.
I am hardcore.
But it is so good.
The critters are happy, I am happy, my eyes are watering, it is a good day.

  1. Oh man! I am the same way! I am highly addicted to the chili garlic paste that you can get in the asian foods aisle. I put it in everything. LOTS. Sooooo yummy. I think its why I love Indian food so much!

  2. I LOVE spicy too. I do the same thing with my kids. Serve theirs plain and bland, then spice things up for my husband and me. Haven't tried it with the mac n cheese, though. Good idea.

  18. Spicy is good. I always doctor up my mac 'n cheese, too. I'll have to try extra cheese. That's a no brainer - but I've never thought of it before. Nice job, girl!

  20. There is a wonderful spice store in my town where I purchase hot curry powder and although I am truly not a big curry fan I enjoy adding some to my soups and such like you do your cayenne.

  21. You sound like me. When I'm in the mood for something with a kick, it's not spicy enough unless my nose starts to drip. :)

  27. I'm pretty sure I should get that organic mac and cheese for Brayden instead of killing him with whatever toxic stuff they put in the blue box. I'm a horrible mother.
